Calm morning at St Mary's Island

An overcast but calm August morning just after high tide at St Mary's Island on the North East coast of England with the causeway just about clear enough to allow access to the island. The island is situated near the town of Whitley Bay and is cut off from the mainland each high tide as the water covers the causeway at that time. The calm conditions enabled a lovely reflection to show on the calm waters of the North Sea.
