High Tide at St Mary's Island
St Mary's Lighthouse and island lie north of the River Tyne and Whitley Bay on the North Sea coast of England. The lighthouse is no longer in operation and is now a museum and tourist attraction which is only accessible at low tide when the causeway is not under water. The image was taken on warm August morning with the rising tide lapping over the causeway and cutting the island off from the mainland temporarily.
