Warkworth Castle and the River Coquet
Description
Warkworth Castle is a ruined medieval building, occupying a loop in the River Coquet in Northumberland. The castle was built in the mid 12th century in a charter between the years 1157 and 1164. This image shows the Grey Mares Tail Tower leading to the castle keep, from the river bank at Amble on a bright September morning.
